The Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Act, which has been crucial in securing services and funding for autism research, is set to expire at the end of September. This act has been instrumental in ensuring that individuals with autism receive the support they need to thrive. However, simply reauthorizing this legislation is not enough. The act must be expanded to address the unmet needs of individuals with profound autism who require more intensive services and resources.
Without reauthorization and expansion, thousands of individuals and families could face significant challenges in accessing the services that are critical to their well-being and development. We cannot let this happen.

About the Autism CARES Act
The Autism CARES Act was originally passed in 2006 and reauthorized in 2014 and 2019. It has provided critical funding for research, services, and support that helps individuals with autism.
