Behavior Support Services

Compassionate, goal-driven ABA builds on each client’s strengths to support their unique long-term life goals. At Vista, our Behavior Support Services take a constructional approach to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), emphasizing goals, strengths, and repertoires for lasting success rather than focusing on barriers. We partner with adults, families, and caregivers to create collaborative plans that guide clients from where they are today to where they want to be. Led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, our behavior professionals and support staff help individuals build independence, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and enhance overall quality of life.

Getting to Know You

Every journey begins with understanding the person, not just the behavior. Vista’s Behavior Support Services start with a collaborative assessment process that highlights each individual’s strengths, skills, and long-term goals. Together with the individual and their caregivers, we explore what a meaningful life looks like—whether that means greater independence at home, success in the workplace, or stronger relationships in the community. As part of this process, our behavior professionals conduct both functional behavior and skills assessments. These tools don’t define the person; they simply help us understand the client’s current repertoire, identify barriers to success, and chart the path toward achieving long-term goals. Our compassionate, assent-based approach ensures that every plan begins with a person’s unique potential, not just the challenges they face.

A PLAN FOR GROWTH

Using what we learn together, our team builds a Person-Centered Behavior Support Plan (PCBSP) that connects today’s strengths to long-term life goals. Guided by a constructional approach to ABA and case conceptualization, we focus on building skills and supports that promote independence, communication, relationships, and safety—always delivered with compassionate care and the least restrictive strategies possible. Each plan outlines annual goals and short-term objectives that tie directly to the person’s long-term vision. It incorporates positive, skills-based strategies and environmental supports, while clearly defining the roles of family members, caregivers, and team members. To ensure consistency across settings, our team provides training and coaching, and we review data on an ongoing basis so we can celebrate progress and make adjustments as needs change.

SUPPORT ACROSS ALL AREAS OF LIFE

Vista’s Behavior Support Services are designed to help adults apply new skills and strategies in every part of daily life. Because each person’s long-term goals are at the center of our plans, we provide support in the places and activities that matter most. Whether at home, in the community, or at work, our focus is on building skills that increase independence, connection, and quality of life. Areas of support may include;

  • Home life and independent living skills
  • Attending medical & psychiatric appointments with confidence
  • Developing functional communication and self-advocacy skills
  • Making healthy and safe choices
  • Securing and maintaining meaningful employment
  • Building friendships and relationships
  • Participating fully in adult day programs and community activities
  • Gaining autonomy through self-care and self-determination

BEHAVIORAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITES

Our Behavior Support Services don’t just help individuals — they strengthen the entire circle of support around them. Vista’s team provides training, coaching, and consultation designed to build confidence and consistency across environments. Using a constructional, compassionate-care approach, we tailor training so that everyone involved feels prepared and supported. Those who can benefit from training include:

    • Individuals receiving services who want to build new skills and independence
    • Professionals pursuing credentials as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) or Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
    • Support staff providing day-to-day services
    • Family members and caregivers learning strategies to reinforce prosocial behavior and teach skills at home
