Vista Autism Services proudly announces the receipt of a significant $15,000 grant awarded to The Vista School from Dauphin County’s recent distribution of gaming grants. This generous allocation is earmarked for a critical safety upgrade at our flagship institution, ensuring a safer learning environment for our students.
The Vista School, renowned for its specialized educational and behavioral services for students with autism, will utilize these funds to replace its existing smoke detector and fire alarm system. This improvement is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing a secure and supportive educational setting for our students, staff, and the broader community.
Dauphin County’s decision to allocate $8.9 million in gaming grants to over 200 local projects underscores a strong community commitment to enhancing the quality of life and safety for its residents. The Vista School’s inclusion in these awards highlights the importance of specialized educational institutions and their needs within our community.
“This grant is not just an investment in safety equipment; it’s an investment in peace of mind for our students’ families, our staff, and our supporters,” said Trevor Motley, Chief Operating Officer at Vista Autism Services. “We are deeply grateful to Dauphin County for recognizing the vital role The Vista School plays in the lives of individuals with autism and for helping us ensure their safety and well-being.”
The upgraded smoke detector and fire alarm system is a crucial step in our continuous effort to maintain a state-of-the-art facility that meets the unique needs of our students. By fostering a safe and nurturing environment, we empower our students to focus on learning and personal growth, free from concern about their immediate safety.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dauphin County for their support and to all those who continue to advocate for the advancement of specialized autism services. This grant not only enhances the safety of The Vista School but also reinforces our shared vision of creating a community where individuals with autism can thrive and reach their full potential.
