Hershey, Pennsylvania – On Friday, October 13, Vista Autism Services will hold its 16th Annual Walk for Autism to support Vista across our 12 programs. This year, for the first time ever, in addition to our main walk at the Springboard Campus there will be three “satellite walks” occurring on the same day. These will take place at our CoVE location in Carlisle at North Dickinson Elementary School, at our Community Integration Center at the Good Shepherd Campus, 2400 East Market Street in Camp Hill, and at our Early Intervention Center, 659 Spring Garden Drive, Middletown. This year’s theme, Heroes Among Us, celebrates all those in our Vista Community- including staff, families, community supporters and most of all, the individuals we serve- who inspire us to strive harder, dream bigger, and accomplish amazing things. Vista clients, with the help of their direct support staff, were encouraged to submit walk T-shirt designs related to the theme. The winning design was submitted by Vista’s Early Intervention program.
Leading up to the event, we invite students, staff, family, and friends to register as a participant and join a fundraising team. Funds raised will go toward fulfilling client needs, program enhancements, supplemental technology, and organizational improvements across all our programs. Vista would like to thank our current sponsors for this year’s walk: Bryn Mawr Trust, UPMC, Delta Dental, Fulton Bank, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Neurelis and Heck Construction Company Inc.
This year’s walk at the school will be combined once again with Vista’s Community Helper Day where we invite community organizations such as local law enforcement, fire and rescue, EMS, etc. to visit with our students, staff, and families. Similar activities will take place at our satellite walks.
