Something colorful is quietly making its way into our local community—and it all started with a simple idea at Vista’s Hershey Community Integration Center.
Over the past few weeks, individuals in our adult day program have been painting vibrant, one-of-a-kind rocks as a way to spread joy, creativity, and connection throughout the region. Each rock was carefully designed and decorated by hand, then sealed and labeled with a special QR code that invites the finder to share their discovery online.
The goal? To create meaningful interactions between our program participants and the broader community. When someone finds a Vista rock, they can scan the code, send a message, and even upload a photo to let us know where the rock ended up. All of those submissions will be shared directly with the artist who painted the rock—a powerful reminder that their creativity made an impact.
The fun doesn’t stop there. After sharing their discovery, we hope finders will re-hide the rock in a new location so the kindness can keep traveling. A neighborhood park, a favorite walking trail, or just outside your local coffee shop—it all adds to the journey.
This project is more than just an art activity. It’s a way to help build community, encourage self-expression, and show our clients just how far their creativity can reach.
So keep an eye out—you never know where a Vista rock might turn up!
