Vista Adult Services Organization (VASO) recently secured a grant that enables our direct support professionals to earn the BACB – Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
This month, we registered our first cohort of 10 staff across Employment, Adult Day, and In-Home and Community programs to complete a 40-hour RBT coursework series. In addition, our BC department will support the completion of a competency assessment required of the BACB to then sit for the certification exam. The grant covers coursework, BACB fees, time spent by DSPs and BCs, and bonuses to staff as they complete the coursework, earn their certification, and annually renew.
