Building Possibilities: Opening the Camp Hill Early Intervention Center

Vista Autism Services is preparing to open our Camp Hill Early Intervention Center to expand access to early support for young children and their families. Your gift helps make this location ready from day one — from a purpose-built outdoor playground to specialized indoor learning and play environments designed specifically for young learners with autism. Together, we can create a welcoming, secure space where children can learn, grow, and build early skills.

Proven Design, Purpose-Built for Early Intervention

The Camp Hill Early Intervention Center is being prepared using the same thoughtful approach Vista has already put into practice at our Middletown location. From outdoor play to the interior learning environment, every element is designed to support young learners with autism through safe movement, engagement, regulation, and early skill development.

This campaign helps ensure the center opens ready — with environments built intentionally for the children and families who will rely on them.

What This Center Will Include

The Camp Hill Early Intervention Center is being prepared using the same proven model Vista has established in Middletown — with environments intentionally designed to support young learners with autism from the moment they arrive.

Outdoors, developmentally appropriate play for children ages 2–5 is paired with accessible design, safe exploration elements, poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, and shade features that promote comfort and regulation. The playground is designed not simply for recreation, but as an extension of early learning and skill development.

Inside, specialized gross motor and play equipment, along with furnishings selected specifically for young learners with autism, create structured, supportive spaces that encourage engagement, independence, and growth.

Donor Recognition

Every gift helps prepare and open the Camp Hill Early Intervention Center, and we are grateful for support at every level. Contributions to this project also advance Vista’s Building Possibilities Campaign.

In recognition of significant contributions:

  • Cornerstone Donors — gifts of $250–$999
  • Framework Donors — gifts of $1,000 and above

Donors at these levels will be acknowledged on a permanent recognition plaque installed within the Camp Hill Early Intervention Center, honoring those who helped establish this new space for young children and families.

Funding the Project

The total goal to prepare and open the Camp Hill Early Intervention Center is $130,000. Approximately $115,000 of this total supports the design, installation, and safety surfacing of the outdoor playground. The remaining funds ensure the interior environment and overall facility are fully prepared to serve children safely and effectively from day one.

We are grateful for an early seed gift of $10,000 from Area of Interest – GHCF, a charitable fund of the Greater Harrisburg Community Foundation, a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC). Their support helps launch this effort and build early momentum.

The Rothrock Foundation has also stepped forward with a generous commitment to strengthen the campaign. Rothrock will match community donations dollar-for-dollar up to the first $50,000, doubling the impact of early gifts and helping move the project quickly toward completion.

Additional community support will help bring the Camp Hill Early Intervention Center fully to life and open its doors to the children and families who need it.
