Vista’s Outreach Services program provides expert behavioral support to public and private schools across Central PA to help guide them through the complex needs of students with autism. We work with both students and educators using a data-driven approach to design the best possible programs fostering growth and progress.

EXPERIENCED AUTISM SUPPORT

Vista Outreach Services includes a wide array of affordable autism support services for elementary through high school grade levels including:

Vista Outreach professionals bring an advanced level of expertise and individualized support to schools that require additional resources to effectively reach a positive trajectory of the student’s social, intellectual, and emotional health.

We specialize in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an evidence-based methodology that helps individuals develop skills and behaviors that are meaningful to them in their overall functioning. All Vista Outreach staff hold master’s degrees and have advanced training to conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior support plans.

DIRECT SERVICES FOR STUDENTS

Our goal is to help students with autism reach their unique potential alongside their typical peers. Vista staff work with students one-on-one or in small groups to teach a variety of social-emotional behavioral skills that will remove barriers to their success. We also work with students to ensure the skills they learn during pull-out sessions generalize to all school settings.

A student’s individualized education program (IEP) identifies the skills that we teach and the goals that we track progress toward. Vista staff collect data on each student’s progress and revise intervention strategies accordingly. Skill areas of focus might include:

  • Communication
  • Self-regulation
  • Executive functioning
  • Self-advocacy
  • Problem-solving
  • Disability awareness
  • Appropriate classroom behaviors
  • Group participation

CONSULTATIVE SERVICES FOR SCHOOL PERSONNEL

In addition to supporting students directly, Vista Outreach Services also provides guidance to teachers and staff to ensure they’re fully equipped to maximize student performance.

Consultative services may include evaluating the following areas and providing recommendations where needs are most evident.

  • Classroom design and management
  • Behavior plans and intervention
  • Class schedules
  • Data collection & analysis
  • Instructional tool usage
  • IEP process
  • Communication systems

IN-SERVICE STAFF TRAINING

Many schools have faced a daunting challenge in meeting the professional needs of their staff and the educational needs of children with autism. Vista Outreach Services provides affordable in-service training on a variety of topics such as teaching strategies or behavior interventions related to autism spectrum disorder and its affect on participation within general education settings.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OUTREACH SERVICES

Vista currently supports students and educators in school districts within a 50-mile radius of Hershey, PA. Regardless of disability category, Vista Outreach Services can support students who would benefit from ABA and evidence-based practices, as long as the students’ needs are within boundaries of competence. A formal diagnosis of autism is not required.

For students enrolled in parochial and other private schools, Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Scholarship funds are available. Contact us for more information about family eligibility.
